This program provides students with the skills and knowledge to work in the Painting and Decorating trade. Painters and decorators apply paint, clear finishes, wallpaper, special finishes and other coatings to protect, maintain and decorate interior and exterior surfaces of domestic, commercial and industrial structures. Tasks include preparation of surfaces such as plaster boards, masonry (concrete) surfaces, timber etc, occupational health and safety, reading and interpreting plans/estimating, erecting and dismantling restricted height scaffolding, applying paint by spray, brush and roller, applying texture coatings, timber stains and clear finishes.

This program will provide work based training and a recognised qualification in the painting and decorating area.  Students will develop a variety of skills required of qualified tradespeople.
