to break into the fashion industry
but dont know where to start?
Prior
sewing and/or design skills are not
required to successfully undertake
the Diploma, as full training is
provided in a simulated workroom
environment using industrial sewing
machines and cutting equipment. By
completing the Diploma graduates
gain the necessary skills to get
their first break in the Fashion and
Clothing Production industry.

About Study
This
is a practical course which develops
technical skills required for
employment within the
Fashion/Clothing Production
Industry. Study areas include
fashion design. textiles. pattern
making. grading. garment production
and retail or marketing skills. This
program has a delivery timetable
requiring 76 weeks participation
over four semesters.
Assessment
Assessment is undertaken throughout
the course on practical and theory
exercises performed in class and
submission of written and
illustrated projects. Assessment is
competency based and requires the
completion of all projects and
assignments written and/or practical
as set out within the Unit Study
Guides and Workbooks. Assessments
may include research projects,
written assignments, garment
construction, practical exercises
and group work or team projects

- These units are clustered to give students the knowledge and skills to construct garments to industry standard using industrial machinery. Skills are learnt in constructing samples and complete garments and cover a range of industrial construction techniques.

A variety of pattern making techniques are delivered to give students the ability to interpret and reproduce designs from illustrations existing garments and technical drawings.
