Best Qualities Of Each State In Australia

Australia offers an incredible array of sceneries and, no matter which state you are in, they all provide something different. To give you an idea of the best qualities of each state, here is a brief overview.

New South Wales

Home to 7 million people, NSW is the most populated state in Australia.

The busy metropolis, Sydney is internationally renowned for its symbolic Opera House. Not far away to the west, proudly stand the Blue Mountains – its breathtaking landscape made of caves, canyons, cliffs and forests = Pure Magic! NSW has many beautiful national parks. The Illawarra Fly treetop walk just south of Wollongong offers great panoramic views. South from there is Jervis Bay, which is famous for having the whitest sand beaches in the world and the best spots to see dolphins. Further away but worth the detour, Lord Howe Island has crystal clear water, coral-rich, sandy beaches = Beautiful!

Victoria

Melbourne, described as the most European city in Australia due to its preserved Victorian architecture, is the beating heart of VIC. Near the city is Phillip Island Wildlife Park where penguins roam free. The spectacular Great Ocean Road known for its iconic limestone pillars – the Twelve Apostles, offers sceneries of deserted beaches and rainforests. If you’re a snow bunny, Victoria is known for some of the best Australian alpine resorts.

Queensland

QLD offers a wide range of landscapes and activities, including the internationally famous Great Barrier Reef, Cairns man-made lagoon, and the white-sandy beaches, as well as the dense rainforests of Whitsunday Islands. Near the lively city of Brisbane is the largest koala sanctuary in the world, Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary. Then of course there’s the Gold Coast, which has some of the best surf breaks and beaches in the world.

Best Qualities Of Each State In Australia

Northern Territory

If you ever visit NT, be sure to explore the enchanted Outback. Along with the impressive red rocks in the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. In a less arid setting, Kakadu National Park (the largest national park in Australia) is a great place to unwind and be amongst the birds, turtles and saltwater crocodiles (supervised of course.)

South Australia

The driest state of the country is the cradle of many vineyards – and therefore known for its wines. When in SA you must drive along the beautiful Limestone Coast, take the ferry to observe the wildlife of Kangaroo Island, and enjoy the cultural life in Adelaide.

Western Australia

Discover Purnululu National Park and the fascinating landform that is Bungle Bungle range. Otherwise, explore the city of Perth and meet quokkas in Rottnest Island. Although it might seem to be a bit out of the way, WA is most-definitely worth a visit!

Tasmania

Affectionately known as “Tassie”, this isolated island is the home to the famous Tasmanian devil. It is the ideal destination for wilderness lovers thanks to its many national parks including, Freycinet and Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair. TAS also has a rich history: walk in the open-air museum of Port Arthur, or through the street of Battery Point, Hobart historic district.

It is very hard to decide what the best qualities of each state in Australia are, as there is so much to offer. Did you know that – Australia’s beautiful landscapes attracted a whopping 9 million tourists in the last year? Also, many immigrants over the years came here to enjoy the outdoors, and relaxed lifestyle – making up 30% of Australia’s population. WOW!
