Family visa announcement

The DOHA head of family visas announced at the MIA conference that from 18 November 2017 any family visa applications (and perhaps others) lodged without supporting documentation will be subject to refusal with no request for further information or other 28-day notification etc…

They seem to be targeting people who make bare-bones applications that meet Schedule 1 criteria but do not have sufficient evidence and supporting documents to satisfy Schedule 2 criteria.

They also announced that they will be enforcing 28-day time limits on requests for further information and letters pursuant to Section 57 of the Migration Act etc. and essentially signalled that extensions of these would be difficult ( if not impossible) to obtain.
